It's fabulous Friday! I'm going to turn this into Fab Five Friday with a list of 5 things. Having trouble generating traffic to your site? Here are 5 quick ways to generate more traffic to your site that you can start today! make money online Review Other Sites This is a simple yet easy way to generate traffic to your site. Notify the person you are reviewing in advance. This offers you the ability to do a few things. First, you get to review any cool site that you want to review. Second, the person you are reviewing is likely going to tell people on their site about your review so the traffic will often flow both ways - from your site to theirs and from their site to yours. Third, and perhaps one of the most underhanded, if the other person's site does well and gets a lot of traffic, your review will be tied to that site via our mighty friend the search engine. Fourth, you are building a name for yourself. The key to a successful review is actually going to the site and looking around. I have seen some people review sites that they clearly have not visited. Perhaps those were paid reviews. I'm not sure, however, it makes you look like and idiot when you try to review a site you haven't gone through. Make sure that you Stumble the review, bookmark the review, digg the review and mixx the review.
Join BlogCatalog AND Start A Discussion Do you feel too intimidated to do this? Don't feel that way! Even if you say something stupid, you don't have to look anyone in the eye so it's OK! :-) Use the free tools that are available to you. As you know, if you've seen any of my prior posts on BlogCatalog, I'm a huge BlogCatalog fan. I have generated a good deal of traffic by just networking with other people on that site and asking questions that other people have found interesting. If you are really looking to generate traffic, create your own group! Don't be afraid to put yourself out there. The web allows us to have a certain amount of anonymity if that's what we want, however, you need to make yourself visible to get traffic to your site.
Answer Questions On Yahoo Answers AND Include The Url To Your Site A lot of people don't think about the basic ways to generate traffic. Yahoo Answers offers you the ability to find targeted leads for your niche AND create backlinks back to your site. I have used this tactic with one of my niche sites http://www.thedatingtipsmagazine.com. I will spend about 30 minutes reviewing questions on Yahoo Answers and then answer some with links back to my site. This does three things. It gives me a great idea of the questions people have about dating since The Dating Tips Magazine is obviously about dating tips. It gives me the ability to answer questions that people have and establish myself as an 'expert' on the topic AND it gives me a quality backlink back to http://www.thedatingtipsmagazine.com. I always include the link at the end of my answers. I have been using Google Analytics to track the results of visitors from those links since I started doing it and the amount of traffic in relation to the amount of links I have created is about 52% daily. That's a 52% return from doing nothing more than answering a few questions one time, because once you answer the question, the answer is there and the link is there! If you can provide quality answers for your niche, you can create a steady traffic stream of targeted traffic to your site. This traffic is targeted because these people are seeking answers to things and if you have the answer on your site, you will likely be able to convert this person to a click or purchase.
Join A Forum, Add Your Site To Your Signature AND Start A Discussion Or Join A Discussion About Something You Have On Your Site After looking at my stats one day, I realized that I was getting a lot of traffic from a forum I had never been to. I decided to visit the forum and see what was going on. It just so happens that someone on that forum was complaining about my Kontera text link ads and encouraging people to come to my site and see them. It just so happens that there was also an increase in my clickthroughs for Kontera due to this. I was surprised to say the least. This post about something one person disliked on my site ended up making money for me because people came and clicked! This is a testament to a few things - the power of forums to drive traffic, the power of text link ads and the power of traffic even if the people coming don't like something on your site. This is an extreme example, however, forums are a great way to drive traffic. DigitalPoint is a great forum and you can reach the Digital Point forums here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/. There are others. A quick Google search can help you find one for you. For instance, if you have a product for moms, you need to market yourself over on the forums here - http://www.cafemom.com.
Use MyBlogLog To Create A Presence For Your Site And To Drive Traffic I have to say that I can't stand the new MyBlogLog interface. I absolutely hate it 150%. However, having said that I have to tell you that it is an excellent site to network on. You need to make SURE that you add an avatar to your account. You can use Yahoo to create the avatar and add it to your MyBlogLog account. If you don't do it right away, I would suggest that you not go too long without one. People respond to images and they connect to people with avatars more than those who don't have avatars. Anyway, start adding people as your friends that have blogs outside of your niche. Why do I say outside of your niche? It's simple. People are very ego driven. If they think they have the answers and your blog is about the same thing that there blog is about, they are not likely to become a regular visitor to your blog UNLESS your blog is so exceptional that they just can't resist. Since exceptional is often subjective, stick with people outside of your niche. For instance, if you have a blog about making money online, don't market your blog to other people with the same type of blog. Instead, market your blog to people who DON'T think they have the answer to making money online. They are going to want to read what you have on your site a whole lot more than people with the same type of blog.
There is a 6th way that I'm not including in the list. You can view this tip as a bonus. That is to use Twitter to market your posts. I'm so surprised that more people aren't doing this! The traffic to my blog from my tweets has not been extreme, however, it is steady. When you send out a tweet, you are reaching A LOT of people! You may not realize it, but you are. Don't be afraid to use this tool to market your posts. If you need an example of how to do it, visit my profile on twitter by clicking here - http://twitter.com/pureblogic. There are so many more ways that I didn't include here because there should only be 5 for Fab Five Friday. Don't worry, we'll go through more ways in the future. I hope you enjoyed this quick Friday Fab Five on Fab Five Friday! if you were looking for how to make money online Posted By Kila Morton
