ImageA lot of people rely on Google Adsense for website monetization and to make money blogging. They place the code on their sites and trust that Google will deliver results that are relevant to their blogs and websites. This is a nice dream, but sadly it’s often not what happens. Many times Adsense ads will display that are completely unrelated to the content of the blog. What does this mean to you? It means that the people who come to your blog are unlikely to be interested in the ads that are being displayed in your Adsense ads. So what can you do to make sure that the Google ads displayed on your site are relevant to your site's content? The one word answer is targeting.

 Google allows you to tell them about the words and sections that are relevant on your site. By using the following tags you can direct Google to display the ads that are more likely to receive clicks.  To target your content place the following tags around it.

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->

            YOUR BLOG or WEBSITE text

<!-- google_ad_section_end-->

Those tags provide suggestions for Google to use for your site. The end result may not be instantaneous. Google's bots may need some time to match your changes with your ads. You should also include a significant about of content within the tags. If you don't, you run the risk of their not being enough ads within your keywords which would result in PSAs being shown in place of ads. Also, using this feature to place ads on your site that aren't related to your content is a violation of Google's terms of service.

If used correctly, this feature can really help you increase your Adsense click and conversion rate.
