OK. So it's been about a week since I installed the Alexa Widget on PureBlogic. The intent, which I talked about in my March 7th, 2008 article outlining 5 simple ways to build up your Alexa rank, was to see how the widget changes my traffic stats. I've decided to provide a weekly update so we can chart the growth together and so you can see how beneficial or not beneficial installing the widget will be. As I've already stated in a previous article, I know that Alexa stats are inacurrate, however, their ARE companies that use your rank to determine how much advertising money they will pay you. Therefore, even if you don't care about Alexa, building your rank with them isn't going to hurt you. So here is the breakdown thus far:
| Week 0 - March 07, 2008 - | 660,166 | | Week 1 - March 14, 2008 - | 588,229 |
That's a change of about 10.8%. Clearly those 5 simple ways I outlined to increase traffic do actually work. I will keep you updated on the changes. Hopefully as Alexa refines and streamlines their process, we will see an increase in their accuracy. In the future, Alexa rankings may end up being an industry standard. Paying attention to your rankings now can't hurt. Posted By Kila Morton
